Fischer-Tropsch (FT) wax is a synthetic wax produced by the polymerization of carbon monoxide under high pressure, a technology used in the emerging natural Gas to Liquid (GTL) projects.

The hydrocarbon product of FT reaction is distilled to separate the mix into fuels products and waxes with melting points ranging from about 45 - 106ºC.

Fischer-Tropsch wax can be used in plastics processing such as injection molding, extrusion and pelleting. FT wax contributes to the dispersion and excellent slip properties of the filler during compounding of masterbatch and modified plastics. FT wax can be used as PVC external lubricant, low viscosity can improve the processing speed , contribute to the dispersion of pigment fillers, especially in high viscosity system extrusion ,it has better application than the ordinary PE wax with 40 - 50% less dosage and can significantly improve the surface gloss . The FT wax can melt the dye effectively and reduces the  extrude viscosity  when using in a high concentrated color masterbatch.
